  • How do I contact you?
Currently I operate using email and word of mouth only. This is simply to make sure I don't miss any communication. If you have questions please reach out via artfullyyourscommissions@yahoo.com. However, please note that I will not take requests simply via email correspondence. Any initial commission requests should be submitted using the Request A Piece section, as it was built to take in the base information I need to know. Thanks for your understanding!
  • Why do you only use email? Why not a phone number or a social media app?
Since this is a business endeavor there is only so much I am willing to divulge, but I will at least say this. I am hard of hearing and it presents mainly in conversation, so because of this I am very anxious about phones in general. I much prefer leaving phones out of the equation and using typed correspondence to avoid this anxiety and to ensure that I don't miss a vital piece of information. As for social media, I'm not on it reliably enough to list it as a form of contact. Email is really the best and most reliable way for me to get all of the information needed and correspond with clients.
  • What does the process of requesting a piece look like from start to finish?
Here's an outline of the general steps. Keep in mind that it might vary slightly due to potential lapses in communication, draft revision, or unforeseen circumstances. The client fills out the Request a Piece form. I receive the form data and reach out to the client via the client's email address. This is to confirm the details of the piece and get any last bits of information I might need, as well as provide a price estimate and approximate time to complete it. If the client agrees to the information set, I write up a contract that confirms the information provided in the email chain and send it to the client. If the client signs it, this then confirms that I will make their piece. A 30% deposit is charged at this time. I create a quick barebones sketch of the request and send it to the client for review. The client is entitled to 1 major revision to the piece which would come into play here. Once any revisions have been sent to me, I confirm that the sketch is locked in and create the full piece. If any delays were to happen I would communicate them to the client. The client is entitled to 1 small revision during this time. Any further revisions would be charged to the client. After the art is completed, the client remits payment via any of the accepted payment methods. I send the client the completed file in *.png form.
  • Where is your pricing list?
Since each client's requested piece varies wildly on the elements involved and the time to make them, there isn't a way to display any pricing reliably. Instead I provide a price estimate after a commission request is submitted via the Request A Piece section. Don't worry, submitting a request will not lock you into a contract - the contract only applies after the request is submitted, I contact you based on the information provided, and we come to an agreement on piece details and price estimate. (Please note that I will not take requests simply via email correspondence. Any initial commission requests should be submitted using the Request A Piece section, as it was built to take in the base information I need to know.)
  • Is there anything you won't draw?
Yes. I refuse to draw anything that: Is pornographic in nature - please keep your requests PG-13. Is or can be insensitive to other genders, races, cultures, orientations, etc. Is political or religious in nature. I will not navigate that minefield, full stop. Outside of these generalizations, I retain the right to refuse to create a piece if I believe the topic/subject of the piece goes against these rules or my personal morals (which align with these rules).
  • Do you use AI in your art?
Absolutely not. While I can respect artists who choose to use it for any reason, I would much rather do the work myself. Drawing actually relaxes me so it benefits me a lot more than it would to delegate anything to AI and review it afterwards.
  • I can't afford a commission or art from the art store but still want to support you. How can I do this?
I have a few options for you. - Please visit my Buy Me A Coffee site, where you can provide a one-time donation (via a "virtual coffee") or make it recurring monthly if so desired. You set the amount completely so do whatever works best for you. I appreciate any and all monetary support no matter how big or small. - If you can't monetarily support at all, that's still fine. Maybe you know someone who might want to commission an art piece, so spreading the word to them definitely counts as support. - This is a bit more niche of a situation, but maybe it's possible that you know with 100% certainty that a friend of yours commissioned a piece but did not submit a review. Even just suggesting to them that they submit a review to my site is helpful too.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
I currently accept the following payment methods: - Debit/Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, ChinaUnionPay*, JCB*, Diners*, Electron*, Maestro*) - Apple Pay - Google Pay - PayPal Other methods may be added later on. * I am not personally familiar with these payment methods but they were included in the card payment settings. Please note that all transactions are conducted in USD.
  • I have a sudden financial hardship and can't pay the final invoice within 30 days. Is there anything that can be done?
Life is hard sometimes so I sympathize with your current plight. I try to be reasonable since that's what I'd hope people would do for me. That said, if you can explain what's going on and it's within reason I can be lenient on timing. However, this is at my discretion and will only apply to financial woes or paycheck mis-timings mainly.
  • Why did I get charged an extra invoice?
The final invoice I send out needs to be paid within 30 days, per our service contract. If the invoice isn't paid then each month following that 30-day period, a 5% late fee will be charged.
